Cough: if taking medication for high blood pressure, some of these meds can lead to chronic cough. Should be taking prilosec at 20mg two to three x /day. Maintain anitreflux diet. Drink at least two quarts of clear fluids a day. Avoid usual suspects: smoke, dust, particulate matter, etc. See pulmonologist if persists.

See an allergist: Or a pulmonologist, chronic cough has many causes, reflux is only of the, some meds , may be,but mainly can be due to upper/ lower respiratory tract problems. See an allergist, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck

Aggravating frs: Anyone with Re-flux should avoid caffeine or nicotine which allow the GE junction to remain open. They should also not lay down for at least an hour after a meal or snack. Both aggravate /increase re-flux . It can take months with proper meds and actions to reverse this process.
