Not sure it does...: Like so many alternative treatments or products, tradition, theory, hope and anecdotal evidence do not hold up when a formal review of evidence is done. Green tea: I don't think that matters, green tea in general is good .So is green coffee supplements.Focus on low glycemic index foods(<40).Drink plenty of water.Have a consistent exercise program.Get your hormone levels checked, especially your thyroid and testosterone levels.

More studies are : Showing positive results. A study by maastricht university (holland) noted green tea has catechins ; caffeine w inhibition of o-methyl- transferase ; phosphodiesterase which effects thermogenesis ; fat oxidation. The linus pauling institute reported a study indicating that green tea can assist w glycemic control. Additionally, green tea has a diuretic effect.
