Does emax veneers requires no removal of tooth structure? or very minimal?

Depends on case: Emax veneers, or any veneers, can be done as "no prep" veneers where there is no tooth structure removed. However, to maximize the esthetics of the case, some tooth structure may need to be removed. You don't want to compromise the esthetics by insisting that there be no tooth structure removal.

Variable: Yes, emax can be made very thin, but if you have bulky teeth to begin with, you don't want to enhance the problem even more. Emax lithium disilicate is durable, and yes, they can be very thin.

Emax Veneers require: E.Max is a type of porcelain made by a specific company. Yes, it does require removal of tooth structure. Lumineers are a variety of veneer that requires no tooth removal. Cosmetically the lumineers have disadvantages like being bulky so they are often discouraged.

Sometimes: Emax can be as thin as 0.5mm, but if you have a rotated tooth, or a protruded tooth, it will make that more dramatic as well. Think about your smile - is it generally perfect, but you want it whiter? That's a pretty good case for very minimal prep veneers. If you want to straighten something, however, that's not a good case.

Emax porcelain: Emax veneers usually require at least a 0.5mm prep to achieve the best esthetic results for that material. If you are interested in and you are a candidate for minimal prep veneers you should consider durathin veneers. We have achieved amazing natural results with this material.

At least minimal...: Emax and every other veneer is best made with at least some minimal amount of removal of tooth structure. I do not envision a well-done veneer with no removal of tooth structure.

Always prep: Depending on the case, some teeth may need to be aggressively prepared to accommodate for the thickness of the ceramic. The e.max thin veneers can provide optimal esthetics only if the tooth prepped properly.

Best if some prep: Better to have some preparation of the tooth to allow more space for the veneer and the bonding agent to help with strength, aesthetics and stability

Emax veneers: Whether and how much tooth is removed when placing veneers is decided on an individual basis for every patient. No prep (no tooth removal) veneers are used in a limited number of cases depending on the shape, size and location of the teeth, and the health of the gingival tissues (gums). For personal information, talk to your dentist.
