A member asked:

Can they cut a portion of healthy bone, then place veneers on top with glue, or do they just place a veneer on top of that tooth?

Veneers: If you are thinking about veneers, see a dentist to both find out if that is the best treatment option for you, and if so how it's done. A one on one consultation cannot replace trying to understand how to treat your specific situation over the internet. Veneers are porcelain coverings that are bonded to tooth structure after the front surface of the tooth is slightly reshaped.

Veneers: Veneers are egg-shell thin restorations to be placed on the fronts of teeth to disguise size/shape/position/color issues. If you have unhealthy supporting bone under your gums the treatment is not a porcelain restoration. Please discuss the issue with your Dentist. Sounds like referral to a gum/bone specialist, a Periodontist, is advisable.
