Can a low platelet count be caused by an ear infection?

Unrelated: An ear infection is a focal, single site infection although the region (head/neck) is a participant. Your platelets are made in your bone marrow distant from any ear infection and not influenced by it in the least. A person with low platelets for another reason can certainly also get an ear infection.
