Needs better workup: A MRI of the spine is what is needed to diagnose both bony changes in your back, such as degenerative disc or arthritic facet joint issues and more importantly soft tissue changes secondary to disc herniations or other compression of your spine or nerve roots. The pain going down your leg may be from a nerve being compressed by either disc, bone or combination at your spine. Get a good examination
