The roof of my mouth ( back near my throat , on top ) got cut by a finger nail and has now turned white and is very painful , is this a sign of infect?

Possibly: You would need to be physically examined by your Dentist for an accurate diagnosis. If infected, antibiotics may be necessary. If just normal healing of a traumatized area, should get better in a few days. If it has been longer than 48-72 hours since the tissue was injured and it is not getting better, see your Dentist.
