I've noticed my teeth and gums become more sensitive or even sometimes feel a bit sore right before my period is to start. why is that?

A natural event: With the developing female period, there is a normal increase in the progesterone level prior to menstruation. This elevation of progesterone is accompanied with an increase in gingival plaque and that often produces an increase of gingival inflammation, which can cause the soreness you question. That is why it is imperative, to avoid significant gingivitis to brush and floss your teeth.
