A member asked:

I've noticed sometimes in the few days before my period starts, my gums can feel sore/tender and sensitive in spots and i have to brush extra carefully to avoid further irritation. i don't have that problem any other time of the month. why is that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gum sensitivity: 2 possible reasons, cyclical hormonal changes and/or gum disease. Please address this matter with your Dentist, especially if it has been 6 months or more since your last professional cleaning.
