Depends: Nasal mucus will always begin to have color if it has been in the nasal passages long enough. By itself it is not a prominent signal for anything. If you pair that with facial pain, fever, headaches & cough it could be a sinus infection. If the kids nose runs constantly with some color it could just be reaction to inhalant allergies or environmental irritants.
