How old is ur Dad?: if elderly, or even younger, cough at night could be due to many causes: lung problem (asthma/COPD) , heart problem (e.g. heart failure), stomach problem (GERD) , the last can be the problem as he's is vomiting too, better see his primary doctor for assessment, wish you both wellness
