Possible disc diseas: Arm discomfort on coughing may be caused by a bulging intervertebral disc in the neck. An MRI of the neck verebrae would be the way to diagnose the problem. A neurologist or neurosurgeon could evaluate & advise you. Treatment for a disc impingeing on a nerve root is usually physical therapy with traction or surgery.
