Effective treatment: No true cure has been found for ocd, but a number of treatments, both medication and cognitive therapies, have been shown to produce lasting benefits. Ocd can be so severe that it is one of the few mental disorders for which psychosurgery still is used at times too. Ocd tends to wax and wane over time, but a good treatment regimen should enable an individual to function quite well.
