Flagyl: Flagyl (metronidazole) is an antibiotic that fights bacteria. Flagyl is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, stomach, liver, skin, joints, brain, and respiratory tract. Flagyl is not used for dental infections. Do not self medicate, please see your dentist for proper care.

No antibiotic: No antibiotic will cure an oral infection (abscess, gum disease, etc) by itself. If infection is viral or fungal antibiotic will not treat it. If bacterial, antibiotics can limit spread only as long as you are taking it. Flagyl is not a good choice for oral infections. Please do not try to self-treat. See your Dentist for appropriate care and, if necessary, appropriate medication.
