See Oral Surgeon: Infections of the teeth & jaws can be very serious. There are no valves in the veins of the head & neck so infections can spread backwards through the veins to vital structures including the brain. Serious complications can include stroke & death. See an oral surgeon to see if incision & drainage can control the swelling & infection as a first step. They can do cultures & find drugs to treat it.

Probably not: Please see a doctor asap as the abscessed teeth can turn into a life threatening infection. Your doctor can recommend an antibiotic which you are not allergic to and also the abscess may have to be drained.

Options:: Try a cold pack to start. Go visit the dentist right away. If it is an infection, then it has to be treated-most commonly by either root canal or extraction. Keep your mouth extremely clean. Hydrogen peroxide as a rinse infections can become serious quickly, don't fool around with this.
