Radiation: Now a days we have imrt (intensity modulated radiation treatments) that provide more intense, localized treatment to the organ or area that is receiving the radiation. If you are receiving radiation to your cervix/uterus or prostate in males it will keep the majority of the bladder well from getting exposed and also will push the large and small bowel away from the area of radiation.
