Talk to a specialist: Radiation therapy is an effective form of prostate cancer treatment. No head to head trials with other forms of therapy, including surgery, have yet been performed, but it is one of several options for treatment. Ultimately, cure depends on disease biology: the grade and stage of the cancer. And there are different forms of radiation treatment, usually requiring hormonal therapy in combination.
