Adenomyosis: Adenomyosis is another form of endometrium outside the uterine lining, and can definitely increase the amount of bleeding during a true menstrual period. This kind of bleeding can occur with abnormal thickening of the endometrium due to constant estrogen stimulation without ovulation. Get an appointment with your gyn provider for an ultrasound, and a biopsy may be indicated.
