A member asked:

U/s shows adenomyosis lining 5 mm periods 45 days apart last 20 days i asked 4 biopsy/hysteroscopy/pap path came back nrml dr says adeno is cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Adenomyosis ?: Adenomyosis is infiltration (invasion) of the uterine muscle with endometrium (lining cells of the uterus). This can definitely cause bleeding to last for much longer. If the biopsy was normal, ask your physician about using low dose bcp's, which turn off the ovaries, and will control this kind of menstrual flow and cramping.
