Local anesthetic: Your doctor will surely administer a para-cervical block, which will anesthetize your cervix and make the entire procedure easier. The injections themselves are a little uncomfortable (have you ever had dental work done?) then you will likely feel crampy, like a bad period, during the biopsy. You should ask your doctor if you can pre-medicate with some Ibuprofen to help diminish the symptoms.
