A member asked:

Is it safe to eat high amounts of protein (100+ grams) on a ketogenic diet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Find the real world: A "ketogenic" diet is a fantasy, not a useful strategy. Before we learned about insulin, nearly 100 years ago, the only treatment for diabetes type 1, and a very poor one at that, was an effort to deprive the person of all carbohydrates. Ketoacidosis is an acute medical emergency. If you are fat, exercise more and eat less rich or sweet food.
