A member asked:

Is it safe for an adult use ketogenic diet for treating epilepsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not useful: Although children with difficult to control epilepsies do respond, most adults do not. Furthermore the diet is rather tough to tolerate in adults, as it can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, and could cause chemical imbalances and cardiovascular problems. Best to avoid.
