Unfortunately: a TORN ligament will NOT heal on its own however the proper physical therapy should be helpful in relieving the STRESS on the muscle(s) attached to that ligament! A consultation with a PHYSIATRIST (Muscle/Rehabiltation expert may be helpful Hope this helps Dr Z
