Knee injury: Usually knee swelling will resolve over 4-6 weeks with an isolated ligament tear, such as ACL or MCL tear. If swelling persists, you may have additional damage in the knee, like a meniscus tear, or damaged joint cartilage. Recommend MRI of the knee to assess for these injuries.
