A member asked:

I wanted to know when you burn something, does it lose its nutritional value?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: As a general rule of thumb in plants cooking decreases nutritional value. Cooking meats too hot creates carcinogenic compounds (not cooking fails to kill bacteria).
