1700 calories: If you want to maintain the same weight, you need to burn roughly the same number of calories you consume in the diet. If you want to lose weight, you will need to burn more. Your weight will tell you whether you are taking in too much or too little (except that if your muscles are bulking up , you may gain a little weight and may even be healthier).
