A member asked:

If exercising increases growth hormone production, can it make you grow taller than if you didn't exercise?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Faulty assumption: Growth hormone usually surges in the midst of sleep, not after or because you exercise. Its production is complex & determined by an interplay of genetic and other hormonal elements but your assumption that exercise increases it is a myth. Your final height is expected to reach 1/2 your combined parental height + 2.5 inches. At 17 you are likely near your final height.
