HPV: contagious: HPV is transmitted even when someone is not visibly affected, b/c the virus "sheds" even when not symptomatic. Use of a "female condom" may be a good choice, b/c such prevents contact of genital areas wider than a male condom. Over time, occurrence of HPV lesions diminishes, as one's immune system acquires the ability to reduce or eliminate the lesions.
