A member asked:

Advice for a female in a relationship living with hpv? external genital warts and on urethra have been excised, another procedure required for the inside of the vagina. how do i stop this recurrence? and is intercourse a bad idea?

HPV: contagious: HPV is transmitted even when someone is not visibly affected, b/c the virus "sheds" even when not symptomatic. Use of a "female condom" may be a good choice, b/c such prevents contact of genital areas wider than a male condom. Over time, occurrence of HPV lesions diminishes, as one's immune system acquires the ability to reduce or eliminate the lesions.
