A member asked:

Colonoscopy ordered for left stomach pain. lab shows wbc is 12.1, auto lymphocyte percent is 18.9%, auto neutrophil is absolute is 8.8. colon cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Get the colonoscopy: Your WBC count and neutrophil count are slightly high, lymphocyte percentage is slightly low. Most of the time, such numbers are associated with an infectious process. In all likelihood, there is no association between such blood count numbers and colon cancer. The colonoscopy is a part of your workup for stomach pain and is the best way to determine if it's due to colon cancer.
