Depends on details: A baby starts standing up between age 9 and 12 months, and will fall many times without getting hurt, because he is a little guy and is close to the ground. However, if he falls from a distance, such as from a table or chair, sometimes something will break. If any part of his body or behavior seems strange after a fall (as in this case) a doctor should examine him. If serious, the ER can evaluate.
