Gp suspects i have gout in hand and has given me 7 days antibiotics and a blood test but can i have a blood test while taking the antibiotics?or do i need to wait until i have finished the course?gp was unclear to clarify this point to me.

Get Blood test now: Your Dr. likely gave you antibiotics just in case you have cellulitis and not gout. Most likely the blood tests were ordered to both evaluate for an infection and to check your uric acid level. Uric acid typically is elevated during a gout episode
