350mg/day: The National Institutes of Health suggests an upper limit of 350mg/day of magnesium in dietary supplements & medications for adults because magnesium is in many foods. The daily recommended amount which includes magnesium content in food is 400-420mg for men. Legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and green leafy vegetables (such as spinach), milk & yogurt & fortified cereals are high in magnesium.
