A member asked:

I've tested negative igg for hsv2 after 5 and 7 weeks of exp. had burning and tenesmus in my anus for the last 2 weeks. likelyhood of hsv2?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: Burning and tenasmus can occur for many other issues than HSV, however if you were recently exposed, you should see a doctor now to see if you have any ulcers that they could culture as this is the best way to diagnose HSV. HSV IGm would be the first thing positive after an infection and you should be evaluated for type 1 and type 2
