IgG antibodies to HSV2 take weeks to turn positive. It's said that 19% of results are false positives. An IgM antibody turns positive in days. You may have had a silent infection sometime before that. You could try testing for IgM antibodies to HSV2.(50% false negatives). An alternate explanation is that a past HSV1 infection cross reacted and caused a false positive result for HSV2.
