A member asked:

My foreskin is unretractable and i have balanitous my family have been circumcised but a doctor said i cannot have one, how can i help this or should i get a private circumcision ?

Doctor can help: A pediatrician or urologist can help loosen and stretch the foreskin (and teach a patient how to work on it at home). Sometimes, cortisone-type creams are used make the skin softer, more stretchable. If that is tried for a while, and without success, then a patient can ask the urologist what the different surgical options are. There are surgical ways to loosen the foreskin without cutting it off.
