No risk, no worry: Sinus infections are rarely if ever caught from other people. The bacteria that cause them usually are normal bacteria always present on the skin and in the nose and mouth. Depending on the cause of your friend's illness, perhaps she is contagious -- but probably not for a sinus infection. Perhapss the most improtant issue is whether your friend has COVID-19. Get tested if possibly exposed.
