If : If a chest x-ray has not been done then it is time. Depending on the results you may even need a ct(cat) scan of your chest. Also a blood test called a CBC should be done to look for clues as to the time of illness you are dealing with (bacterial or viral). A TB test should be done as well. As far as your question, "will the ms make it harder to get rid of this" i don't believe so, but the key is getting an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Good luck.
