1 week: The general rule is that most sinus infections begin as a viral "head cold" and run their course in 5-7 days . If the symptoms suddenly worsen after a week, then it has likely become a bacterial infection requiring antibiotics and other supportive rx. Your ms should not have any impact on this process.

Up to 2 weeks: If your ms is mild, give the mucolytic + decongestant + nasal saline a full 2 weeks before going into clinic. If your ms is moderate or severe (edss 4 or greater), check with your neurologist. Some red flags of something serious may include bloody mucus or sputum; swelling of cheek, forehead or region around eye; hearing loss; sudden-onset dizziness or vertigo; or fever over 101.

Approximately 10 day: Anything below 10 days and these type of symptoms could be due to viral infection which should take care of itself. Ms shouldn't change the picture, unless the ms is already affecting breathing muscles enough to require special equipment/assistance.

See below: If your symptoms have persisted for longer than 4-5 days, you likely now have a bacterial infection which would do best with antibiotics. The MS will not affect or blunt the therapy, so see your internist and get this treated.
