Sudden sharp pain in rib and shoulder when breathing, laughing and twisting. it has lasted for 2 days now. aleve and heating pad barely helped. worried about it affecting my asthma due to shallow breathing. what could it be?

Needs eval: This could be as simple as trauma related or an odd sign of a localized pneumonia. There are other possibilities too. It will likely require an exam and x-ray to sort it out.
