Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Medical checkup need: Persistent Pain anywhere can be a sign of serious underlying problem. So if this pain is going on for more than 10-14 days, then you should get yourself checked by your PCP. If there is a lump present, then the doctor may do an X-Ray or CT scan of the hip area(for persistent pain) to find the cause and rule out anything serious causing you this pain. Excessive weight can cause joint problems.
