Treatment of osteopenia can either be with diet, calcium&vitamin D supplements &exercise as you are doing or with medications.Many of us physicians delay treating osteopenia with medications if fracture risk is low as efficacy is somewhat controversial and over medication is a concern. I think repeating the bone density study in a year is a reasonable approach.
