Corpus luteum: The corpus luteum is produced monthly, but if pregnancy does not occur, it degenerates ("involutes") before your menses again occur. The size (17mm.) may have caused some abdominal pain on the side of the "corpus luteum cyst", which caused the CT scan to be ordered.
