See a Doctor: You need to see a Doctor to rule out emergency conditions like esophageal rupture, heart attack, rib fracture to name a few. Chest pain that is not GI in origin is a dangerous diagnosis. Need to have labs, EKG and Chest X ray to get it figured out. Severe means Emergency room if your Doctor can't see you and your experiencing bad pain.
