For the past week, my heartburn has been constant. tums , zantac, doesn't help. trying 20 mg of nexium (esomeprazole). i was on augmentin. what's causing this?

GERD: Augmentin is an antibiotic that's known to be rather harsh on stomach (http://www.drugs.com/sfx/augmentin-side-effects.html). If brand name OTC Nexium (esomeprazole) is too expensive, consider it's original source as generic omeprazole which should be just as effective and also available w/o prescription. If heartburn doesn't improve w/either of these Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI), time to go see your Family Doc
