Will you gain weight if you have malignant ascites?

Sure: Ascites means holding onto watery fluid in the abdomen (outside of the organs in the belly, but inside the belly area). Water weighs 8 pounds per gallon, so there will be weight gain with any kind of ascites, unless the ascites is a very slight amount.
