Women should consume: at least 1,200 cals/day, and men 1,800 cals/day, even when trying to lose weight, to avoid a metabolism slowdown. A very-low-calorie diet can cause serious health issues because it does not provide all of the essential nutrients for good health. It may lead to a weak immune system, irritability, and increased risk of other health problems. Maintain body balance and enjoy good health. Best regards.
