Hi. my helper went to the doc today. swollen left hand. mainly wrist but entire hand and fingers swollen. doc gave her gout meds and ibuomol. apparently now pain worse.. even under her arm?

How do you know: how do you know it is gout? Was the Uric Acid level checked in the blood? where xrays taken?

Get another opinion: Your helper needs to obtain a 2nd opinion. The clinical presentation would be unusual for gout in the absence of prior attacks.
