Eye ointment: The general solution for this is to introduce eye ointment (plain with no medication) such as Lacrilube into the eye (s) which will protect them during surgery Sometimes an occlusive contact lens is also used. One application is usually enough as it will last throughout all but the most lengthy surgery.
