Would a chest x ray be able to detect any cancer mass in the chest of a young male ?

Yes/No: A chest X-ray is a good screening test for most symptomatic tumors/ cancer masses in the lung . It can easily detect tumor of 2CM or larger. Tumors smaller than 1CM are unlikely to be detected with Chest X-ray. This is where CT scan is more effective as it can detetect tumors less than 1CM.

Not necessarily: Chest xray is a notoriously poor test for lung cancer screening. Currently, low dose chest CT is the recommendation for lung cancer screening. Here is some information: https://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=screening-lung That said, as a 27/male, your risk would be relatively low. Are you a smoker?
