Foods and IBS: Different people will have different sensitivities to foods with IBS. Dairy products and spicy or acidic foods (like coffee or tomatoes) are often the more common foods that exacerbate IBS. If there are foods that you suspect are bothersome, the best way to confirm is an elimination diet--eliminate the suspected food(s) for a few weeks and track how your symptoms are during that time.
